Das Centovalli ist das Tal der 100 Täler und Intragna ist sein Herz. Hier beginnen die Einstiege in die Täler Onsernone mit der Isorno und in das Richtung Domodossola führende Centovalli mit der Melezza. Nach Südosten geht es der Melezza entlang Richtung Locarno bis Ponte Brolla, dem Einstieg ins Maggiatal. Von da bis zum Lago Maggiore heisst der Fluss Maggia.
Intragna ist mit dem öffentlichen Verkehr gut erreichbar.
The Centovalli is the valley of 100 valleys and Intragna is its heart. Here start the openings to the valleys of Onserone with the river Isorno and of Centovalli towards Domodossola with the river Melezza. To the southeast, the route follows the Melezza towards Locarno as far as Ponte Brolla, start of the Valley Maggia, where the Maggia forms the river‘s name as far as the lake Lago Maggiore.
Intragna is easily accessible by public transport.

Das alte „Städtchen“ mit seinen vielen verwinkelten Gassen sowie die weiteren Orte in der Umgebung bieten eine wunderbare Umgebung zum Verweilen und Zeichnen. Du kannst von vier Workshops zwei auswählen, die je zwei Vormittage dauern. Neben den Workshops und weiteren kleineren Veranstaltungen stehen gemeinsame Spaziergänge, Wanderungen, Badevergnügen oder selbständiges Zeichnen zur Auswahl. Treffpunkt der Workshops und Veranstaltungen ist der Bildraum Miravalle, ein Altstadthaus im Zentrum von Intragna. Unterkunft bieten die Hotels und B&Bs im Ort und in der Umgebung.
Intragna
The old „town“ with its many winding streets and the other places in the area offer a wonderful environment to linger and draw. You can choose two out of four workshops, each taking two mornings. In addition to the workshops and other smaller events, you can choose to go for a walk together, a swim in the melezza, go for a hike or draw on your own. The meeting point for the workshops and events is the „Bildraum Intragna“, an old town house in the center of Intragna. Accommodation can be found at hotels and B&Bs in the town and the surrounding area.
Das Haus / the house:
Der Bildraum Miravalle dient ZeichnerInnen als Treffpunkt und Arbeitsraum. Er steht im alten Dorfkern (nucleo) an sonniger Lage. Im Parterre befindet sich ein Raum, der als Treffpunkt, Arbeits- und Galerie genutzt wird. Im zweiten Stock ist die geräumige Cantina mit Küche und das Dachgeschoss ist als Atelierraum nutzbar.

„Bildraum Miravalle“ is our sketching event hub and is located in the old village center (nucleo) in a sunny location. On the ground floor there is a small studio that serves as a meeting place, work and exhibition space. There is a spacious cantina with a kitchen on the second floor and a studio space on the top floor.

Sketchwalks in der Umgebung / Sketchwalks in the area
Das Programm bietet neben den Workshops die Möglichkeit, an den Nachmittagen und am Mittwoch entweder in Intragna zu verweilen oder sich an einem Spaziergang (Sketchwalk) in der Umgebung oder an einer Wanderung zu beteiligen. Das Centovalli bietet vielfältige Möglichkeiten für Spaziergänge und anspruchsvolle Wanderungen. Der Fussweg von Intragna dem Fluss Melezza entlang nach Ponte Brolla und dessen spektakulären Badefelsen dauert etwa 90 Min.. Die Wanderung von Loco auf dem alten Säumerpfad Via Vosa nach Intragna beansprucht etwa 2,5 Stunden ohne die Zeichenpausen.
In addition to the workshops, the program offers the opportunity to spend the afternoons and the Wednesday either in Intragna, or to take part in a sketch walk in the area or in a hike. The Centovalli offers a variety of options for walks and challenging hikes. The footpath from Intragna along the „Melezza“ river to Ponte Brolla and its spectacular bathing rocks takes about 90 minutes. The hike from Loco on the old mule track „Via Vosa“ to Intragna takes about 2.5 hours without the drawing breaks.

Da das Tessin im Sommer beliebt ist, empfielt es sich, die Unterkunft früh zu buchen. Intragna hat zwei Hotels und mehrere Pensionen und B&Bs. Auch Ferienwohnungen können hier gemietet werden.
Intragna ist auch von den umgebenden Orten gut erreichbar. Beispielsweise von Cavigliano oder Golino, wo es ebenfalls günstige Hotels hat, sind es mit dem Zug oder Bus 5 Minuten, zu Fuss etwa eine halbe Stunde. Von Locarno dauert die Anfahrt mit dem Zug oder Postauto etwa 30 Minuten.
As the Ticino is popular in summer, it is advisable to book your accommodation early. Intragna offers two hotels and several guesthouses and B&Bs. Vacation flats are also avaibable. Intragna is easily accessible from the surrounding villages. For example, from Cavigliano or Golino, where there are also inexpensive hotels. It takes 5 minutes by train and half an hours by foot. From Locarno it is 30 minutes by train or post bus.

Material, Vorsorge:
Bringe deine bevorzugten Materialien mit wie Stifte, Pinsel, Farben, Skizzenbücher und Zeichenblöcke. In den Workshopbeschreibungen ist das spezifisch verlangte Material der einzelnen Workshops aufgeführt.
Wetterfeste Kleidung, Schuhe mit gutem Profil oder Wanderschuhe, Rücksack, evtl. Wanderstöcke, Sonnen- und Regenschutz, Badezeug sind empfohlen. Die Teilnahme an den Wanderungen ist freiwillig und erfordert eine den Tessiner Wegen entsprechende Kondition.
Für eine geeignete Ausrüstung für die Wanderungen, Vorsorge und Versicherungen sind die TeilnehmerInnen selber zuständig.

Material, precautions:
Bring your favorite materials such as pens, brushes, paints, sketchbooks, and drawing pads. The specific material required for each workshop is listed in the workshop descriptions.
Weatherproof clothing, shoes with good tread or hiking boots, a backpack, possibly hiking poles, sun and rain protection, and a swimsuit are recommended. Participation in the hikes is voluntary and requires a level of fitness appropriate to the Ticino trails.
The participants themselves are responsible for appropriate equipment for the hikes, precautions and insurance.

Licht und Schatten in Mischtechniken
Im Workshop geht es um eine experimentelle, spielerische Herangehensweise ans Skizzieren. Die Natur des Centovalli ist ein toller Ort, um zeichnerisch die vielen Nuancen zwischen Licht und Schatten auszuloten. Was passiert, wenn man die Lichtstimmung übertreibt, wie in einem überbelichteten Foto? Kann ein Bild mit wenig Hell/Dunkel Kontrast trotzdem spannend sein? Darüber hinaus werden wir mit reduziertem Material arbeiten, um die Szene zu vereinfachen. Wir werden auch verschiedene Mischtechniken nutzen, um unterschiedliche Texturen zu erzeugen und so die Schönheit der Natur rund um Intragna in unserem Skizzenbuch einzufangen.
mitbringen:
Skizzenbuch (z.B Hahnemühle Nostalgie oder Aquarell, Talens Art creation) & loses Papier (mind. 140 gr) im Format Din A5-A4, Stifte (nach eigenem Belieben, gerne auch Farbstifte, Brushpens, Acrylmarker, Wachskreiden), Aquarellkasten, Pinsel, Wasserbehälter. Weil der Kurs auch draußen stattfindet: vll. ein kleiner Sitzhocker & Sonnenschutz.
Jenny Adam (*1986) ist Diplom- Produktdesignerin und Illustratorin in Hamburg.
Während ihres Studiums in Barcelona entdeckte sie Urban Sketchers und zeichnet seither vor Ort gemeinsam mit anderen. Sie war 2013 Mitbegründerin des USk Rheinmain-Chapters und Gastgeberin des ersten deutschen USk-Treffens 2015 in Darmstadt. Sie hat viele Urban Sketching-Veranstaltungen kuratiert, organisiert und daran teilgenommen, darunter Ausstellungen und Workshops in Deutschland, Großbrittanien und Portugal.

In these sessions, we will delve into the intriguing world of lines and explore the depth of expression they can offer us. Drawing isn’t merely about outlining scenes, people, objects, or landscapes; it’s about embracing the potential of each line.
Lines can be delicate or bold, shaped by the pressure we apply. We can experiment with tools, intentionally chosen to create uniform or more organic lines. Some tools present a challenge to control, and by embracing this challenge, we venture into the realm of untamed, spontaneous lines. Through combining different drawing utensils, we unlock a diverse palette of textures and lines—mixing being the key.
During these two sessions, we will collaborate, allowing the lines to guide us and enrich our drawing skills. Join us as we harness the power of the line—let the lines flow!
First session:
The sensitive line - let’s play with lines and pressure.
The (not so) homogeneous line - some tools deliver nice and interesting lines.
Second session:
The wild line - again pressure and a different tool come to play with us. The mixed line - melting pots, fusion

Hi, I‘m Swasky, also known as Victor (Barcelona, 1975). I‘ve drawn since childhood. But despite being educated in a school system where creativity is a misunderstood discipline, which takes into account only learn to respond well questions, I decided to study Fine Arts once I finished secondary school. After I studied Audiovisual Communication where mediocrity was also a norm. I ended up working in the advertising world, where everything is done in time money and time edges of suicide. Drawing has always been present in my life and now is fully present.

Felsen und Naturgewalten
Wir entdecken Felsen, Flüsse und den Blick in die Ferne rund um Intragna mit Tusche.
Das direkte Malen mit Tusche und Pinsel mag vielleicht zunächst etwas Mut erfordern, bietet aber viele spannende Möglichkeiten das Medium zu nutzen. Keine Angst vor etwas Schmutz und Dreck! Versuchen wir, die Szene spielerisch und schnell einzufangen, indem wir verschiedene Arten von lockerer Pinselführung und unterschiedlichen Struktureffekten anwenden. In diesem Workshop werden wir entdecken, dass es bei Tusche nicht nur um starke Linienführung geht, sondern auch um zarte Grautöne und alles dazwischen, was der Skizze erstaunliche Tiefe verleihen kann.
mitbringen:
Tusche wird gestellt.
Pinsel sollten mittelgroß oder größer sein, so dass sie gut Flüssigkeit aufnehmen können.
Die Form sollte spitz sein, so dass sowohl feine Linien als auch Flächen erzeugt werden können. z.B.Dagger brush, Kalligrafiepinsel, Aquarellpinsel, bitte keine Wassertankpinsel.
Wasserflasche und Becher
Taschentücher
Mitgebrachtes Papier sollte für Aquarell geeignet sein z.B. Hahnemühle Torchon ist ideal.
Optional: Zeichenbrett, Klammern/Tape, falls loses Papier verwendet wird
Bitte bedenken, dass Tusche nicht auswaschbar ist und entsprechend bei der Kleiderwahl darauf achten.
Johanna Krimmel lebt und arbeitet als freischaffende bildende Künstlerin und Szenografin in Darmstadt.
Mit Stift und Skizzenbuch die Umwelt genau zu beobachten und zu analysieren, bildet die Grundlage für ihre Arbeiten, die auch im Raum und in Verbindung mit medialen, interaktiven Inszenierungen weitergedacht werden.
Stetig auf der Suche nach neuen Ausdrucksformen und Herausforderungen lässt sie sich nicht auf ein Sujet und einen Stil festlegen, vielmehr versteht sie ihren Arbeitsprozess als situativen Flow, als eine Entdeckungsreise mit ungewissem Ziel.
Mit ihren Arbeiten ist sie bei Ausstellungen und Performances im In- und Ausland vertreten, u.a. im Staatstheater Darmstadt, im Landesmuseum Mainz, in Ushgorod (Ukraine), Luxemburg, Brest (Frankreich) und Gose (Japan).
Als aktives Mitglied der weltweiten Urban Sketcher Community leitet und organisiert sie Workshops, u.a. bei internationalen Symposien in Porto, Amsterdam, Intragna, Darmstadt und Zürich.

NATURAL AND SURPRISING GREENS. A DIFFERENT VISION
The main mission of this workshop is to learn how to draw nature. The objective of the workshop is to give a different vision of how to capture nature in your notebooks, providing movement, freshness and energy to them.
During the first morning we will practice, mix and use natural and real green colors (the green watercolors will be supplied by me) and do exercises to understand the morphology of the different elements of nature. We will work in layers and learn to capture lights and shadows correctly. We will work inside and outside.
During the second morning we will focus more on more complex scenes. We will draw more spontaneously and with energy and use different techniques. We will work abroad.

Travel Sketchbook with watercolor paper (DIN A5 or DIN A4). DINA4 preferred.
Pitt Oil Base Medium graphite pencil from the Faber Castell brand.

Draftsman, illustrator, graphic designer and creative trained at ELISAVA (Barcelona University School of Design and Engineering), with more than 25 years of experience in the sector. He currently works for Design schools, Communication Agencies, Advertising Agencies, Event Agencies and Institutions and Artistic Associations and all kinds. I have several books published where drawing and illustration are the main medium. I am Urban Sketcher and YouTuber. I have participated in different travelogue festivals such as Matitte en Viaggio in Italy and Rendevouz du Carnet de Voyage in France. I am currently a professor of urban drawing at the private LCI University where I teach Bachelor‘s and Master‘s degrees. Since 2014 I usually give Workshops, Conferences and Drawing Demos all over the world.
